Using the Wyandotte Yacht Club Photo Library - Registration
Here's how it works:
Any one can simply look at the albums and photos. To participate with club members and donate your own photos you must first register. You will receive an email confirming your registration. You must then confirm your email address by clicking on the link provided to you. This prevents random visitors from spoofing an address to hack into the albums. There is one more step and that is veriification of your membership at WYC, once your name has been verified against the club roster you can begin sharing your photos. Verification is generally done during normal business hours Monday thru Friday, so if you plan to upload photos on the weekend you really should register earlier in the week. In fact since you're reading this now, just go ahead and register today.
Registration:
Register as a user (allow your cursor to hover over the Home icon, then click Register). The Home icon, register
Use your first name and last name (monikers, boat names and handles are not acceptable). Use upper and lower case, don't fall into "lazy email syndrome" Firstname Lastname with a space between them. No two users may share the same e-mail address.
Uploading:
Once the administrators verify your membership by email to you may begin uploading photos. Simply login(allow your cursor to hover over the Home icon, then click Login Depending on the size of your photos you will be able to upload from 1 to 10 photos per session. The ideal size to upload is 640 x 480 pixels. Photos larger than 1.4mb will be declined, It's a necessary evil we need to live with. Most computers have photo editing programs that easily allow you to resize your photos to the ideal target size sometimes called web large, a little extra work on your part will result in faster photo displays and a better web experience for our fellow members and visitors. Your photo editor will allow you to rotate your photos if necessary (only if you made photos in portrait format instead of landscape), if you can't figure out how to rotate your photos just upload them and send an email to the administrators.
Done:
At the end of your upload session you will be given the opportunity to choose the album you want your photo to go in.
Be very careful here, be sure you choose the correct album for the correct year. Currently only albums for this year are available. If you have legacy photos (years prior to this year) email us and we can explain the procedure to you, but before we worry about the past we need to concentrate on the current year and its albums. The album selection screen repeats itself for each photo you upload, choose the album and follow the screen prompts. NOTE: Captions add interest to your photos. To put a caption on a photo use the field labeled "TITLE:" Don't bother with the description field, descriptions will be immediately discarded. Even though you' ve already chosen the album there is still a validation step for the administrators. Generally photos are validated twice a day excluding weekends but there is a possibility that it could take up to 3 days. There's no reason to wait for validation before starting your next upload session.
